When you cannot pick up
Chasing a cable, testing a circuit or up a ladder in someone's hallway: that is when the phone rings. Tilly answers every call in your business name, day and night, and sends you the details so you can call back when it suits the job.
Urgent and dangerous calls
- Sparking and burning smells are treated as urgent from the start, and with a transfer rule she offers to put the caller straight through to you.
- Add your own urgent words, such as no power or a tripping board, and those calls are flagged too, with a text to you on Pro and Business.
- Write what she should say in an emergency in your own words, and she says it.
Quote requests and the work you do
List the jobs you do, such as rewires, consumer unit upgrades, EV charger installs, EICRs for landlords, extra sockets and lighting, and fault finding, with prices if you publish them. For a new job she takes what the work is, the address or the town and postcode, whether it is a home or a business, how urgent it is and the best time to call back. She never quotes a fixed price you have not listed.
Certificates and registration questions
Callers ask whether you are NICEIC or NAPIT registered, whether you can issue a certificate and how long a rewire takes. Add your answers and she uses your words. She never says anything about your registration or certificates that you have not told her.
Covering your area
When a caller gives a postcode, she checks where it is and how far it is from your base, and answers from the areas you cover. If she is not sure, she says you will confirm and takes the details.
