Cookie policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Tilly uses on tillyanswers.co.uk, and the choices you have. The tables further down this page list every cookie we currently use, and they change automatically when we switch a tool on or off.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies, such as pixels, tags and your browser's local storage, work in a similar way, and this policy covers them too. The law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) lets us use the ones a site needs to work without asking, and requires your consent for the rest.

2. How we use them

Essential cookies keep you signed in, keep your basket and remember your cookie choices. The site cannot work without them, so they are always on.

Analytics cookies tell us how people use the site, for example which pages are visited, so we can improve it. We only use them if you allow them.

Marketing cookies tell us whether a visit or a sign-up came from one of our adverts, and let advertising platforms show our adverts to people who have visited. We only use them if you allow them. If you allow them and sign up, the advertising platform is also told about your sign-up; our privacy policy explains what is shared, including your email address and phone number in scrambled (hashed) form.

Nothing in the analytics or marketing groups loads until you choose. Google's tags are set up so that, until you agree, they do not run at all.

3. Your choices

When you first visit, we ask which groups you are happy to allow. "Accept all" and "Reject all" are equally easy, and "Choose which cookies" lets you pick group by group. Rejecting non-essential cookies does not stop you using any part of the site.

You can change your mind at any time from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. If you turn a group off, we delete the cookies we can and stop the tools in that group.

We remember your choice for six months, then ask again. We also ask again sooner if we start using a new tool.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the site will not work properly without the essential ones. To manage the adverts Google shows you, visit Google's My Ad Center, and to stop Google Analytics on every website you can install Google's opt-out add-on.

4. Other technologies

When you pay, you move to a secure checkout page run by Stripe, which sets its own cookies to prevent fraud; Stripe's cookie policy covers them.

When you try the live demo, your browser asks for permission to use your microphone. The demo does not set any cookies.

If you allow marketing or analytics cookies, we also keep a note in your browser's local storage that a sign-up has been reported, so it is not reported twice.

5. Changes

We will update this policy when the cookies we use change. The date it was last updated is shown at the top. Questions are welcome at hello@tillyanswers.co.uk.
