A busy desk and a ringing phone
Reception at a vet's is rarely quiet: owners at the desk, a dog that will not settle and the phone ringing over the top. Tilly answers every call, talks to several callers at once, and sends each one to your team as a clear message or a booking.
Emergencies, set up your way
There is no ready-made vet set-up, so she starts from our general one and you add what matters to your practice, in plain English:
- Urgent words, such as not breathing, collapsed, hit by a car or eaten something poisonous. Those calls are flagged urgent, with a text on Pro and Business.
- Transfer rules, so urgent callers are put straight through to the vet on duty.
- What to say in an emergency, such as your out-of-hours arrangements and the number to ring, in your own words.
She never gives medical advice. She offers an appointment or a call back, puts urgent calls through under your rules and gives your emergency arrangements.
Appointments
On Pro and Business she books consultations, vaccinations, nail clips and post-op checks into your Tilly diary, checking your Google, Outlook or Apple calendar first. Choose whether each booking is confirmed straight away or waits for your team to confirm it.
Repeat prescriptions, results and new clients
- Repeat prescriptions become a message for your team. Tell her in your instructions to ask for the pet's name, species and medication, and she will.
- Results and clinical questions go to the team as a message: she has no access to your clinical records.
- New clients get answers about registering, your prices, insurance and payment, from what you tell her.
Out of hours
When you are closed, callers hear when you are next open and, depending on your out-of-hours setting, she answers questions and takes a message, takes a message only, or follows your transfer rules as normal. Every call is in your dashboard in the morning with a summary and transcript.
When you sign up, choose "Any business" as your industry, then add your services, prices, urgent words and emergency arrangements.
