Nobody climbs down a scaffold to answer the phone
On a roof, mixing mortar or knocking through a wall, the phone stays in your pocket. New enquiries, roof leaks and quote requests go to voicemail, and many callers do not leave one. Tilly answers every call in your business name, day and night, and sends you the job so you can ring back at your break.
Roof leaks and urgent repairs
- "Leak" and "flood" are urgent words in our trades set-up, so a caller with water coming in is flagged urgent from the start, with a text to you on Pro and Business.
- If water is coming through a ceiling, she treats it as urgent and, with a transfer rule set, offers to put the caller through to you.
- Add your own urgent words, such as storm damage or loose tiles, and those calls are flagged too.
Quote requests and bigger jobs
For extensions, loft conversions, new roofs, repointing, guttering and fascias, she finds out what the work is, the address or the town and postcode, whether it is a home or a business, how soon they would like it done and the best time to call back. She never quotes a price you have not listed: she says you will confirm a price after a look. Every enquiry is emailed to you with a summary, ready to call back and arrange a survey.
The questions callers ask
Whether you are insured, whether you give free quotes, how long a job like theirs takes and when you could start: add your answers in plain English and she uses your words. She never says anything about your business that you have not told her.
Covering your area
When a caller gives a postcode, she checks where it is and how far it is from your base, and answers from the areas you cover. If she is not sure, she says you will confirm and takes the details.
Put the same on your Google Business Profile: the areas you cover, and every job you do with a line on what it involves. Here is how to add services to your Google Business Profile.
Built on our trades set-up
Builders and roofers start from the same set-up as our receptionist for trades and home services. We also have pages for plumbers and electricians. When you sign up, choose "Trades and home services" as your industry.
